Religion: Lesson 5 and video.
Socratic: Read excerpt from Life of Perecles and discuss in class.
Greek and Latin: Keep up the excellent work!
Math: Biology: Read Module 2 and complete experiements/journal, study.
Writing: complete Life on Other Planets paper
Logic: 2.3, 2.4
Vocab: Chapter 8 (post) and Review
Literature: Read Freckles by Stratton-Porter.
History: Complete Mayflower unit: finish model, add people/dates/events to timeline.
Fine and Domestic Arts: Violin lesson, daily practice, sewing lesson, sew 3x in the week, learn to thread serger. Cook at least once/wk.
P.E.: Continue Swim Team

Biology: complete log, study, test, organize for next chapter.
Writing: complete Life on Other Planets paper
Logic: 2.3, 2.4
Vocab: Chapter 8 (post) and Review
Literature: The Bottle Imp by Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr. Doolittle by, The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. For a fun tie-in, Filia will plan a meal to complement The Lost World and we'll have that Sunday evening and watch the BBC production.
History: Complete Mayflower unit: finish model, add people/dates/events to timeline.
Fine and Domestic Arts: Violin lesson, daily practice, sewing lesson, sew 3x in the week, learn to thread serger. Cook at least once/wk.
P.E.: Continue Swim Team; Swing dance (if work is complete).

Evaluating validity: Cleverly worded arguments can trick us into believing that they are valid. This exercise is to help Filia see past wording to evaluate validity.
12. Champ is a dog. Champ is not a dog. Therefore, Champ is an invisible horse.
This is valid because one premise is false.
13. Marge is famous. Marge is not famous. Therefore, Marge is an invisible horse.
This is valid because one premise is false.
14. If Jim is rich, then he is famous. If Jim is rich, then he is not famous. Therefore, Jim is an invisible horse.
This is invalid because both premises can be possible with a false conclusion. *missed this one the first time around but was able to explain it after more consideration.
15. Either Pedro will go or he will stay home. Pedro will not stay home. So, Pedro will go.
This is valid because all premises can be true with a true conclusion.
17. Heidi won a prize in gymnastics. Therefore, if Heidi is smart, then she is smart.
This is valid because the premises are true and the conclusion is true. Missed this one.
